Young male cats weren't always so sweet as they looked like. They were often showing they were males.
Even sweet little Goten could get a burst of hormones coming up when females were around.

So nothing was different on the Korung, where both Goten and Hasan were attending their tests.
Marcus, the new trainer at Lunar C. was brushing Goten's fur when he suddenly jerked his head over his shoulder, looking at the passing Shedu's.
"keep attention, pretty boy."
The pangare shedu turned his head again, trying to focus on his handler, but all the the sounds and smells were damn interesting.

Hasan was a more different case. Being the show off against females, he often turned his head and started to purr.
But when a huge heavy male passed and raised his fur and let out a soft hiss, his tail flicking in the sand while he followed the heavy cat with his reddish eyes.
"Like a true male." Marcus said with a snort before going further with Goten.
Shivas rolled with her eyes. Boys ...

When all four of them went to the ring where they would check their confirmation, another trainer passed by, followed by a roan true black female. "pretty girl." Shivas said.
And the two males thought the same. Both followed the female with their eyes, seeing how she was trotting next to her handler.
"don't let your tongues fall in the sand ..."
