Description

Info in sheet is old and a new sheet need to be made! please read the updated info below!!

This breed has been changed from an RPG-breed, to just a breed for dun ;)

Cervari
Cervari are rabbit looking creatures, often confused with Jackalopes in the past. Genetical testing made clear they are originating from them.

Cerva's have the size of a housa-cat. Males are mainly bigger then the females.
Their most typical traits are their rack and their feathered tail.
The rack is mainly bigger on males, showing 2 to 3 prongs, while females mainly only have 1 prong to defend their kits.
Their feather tails are used with finding mates and show-off battles. Yet they also use it as a sign for danger, rustling their feathers and spreading them so the colors are visible.

The paws of a Cerva are cat shaped, so not like a rabbit. They are used for both digging but also climbing in trees. You often see these little things hiding in trees. Yet Cerva live under the ground, in their burrow.

Cerva's are omnivore, while pants, fruits and seeds are still the main part of their diet. Yet they aren't afraid to kill a mouse or bird for extra food, certainly when their doe's are pregnant.

Cerva their medium age is 15 year, yet tame individuals can life up to 20 years. Mainly around 15 years they become infertile. Their breeding season is during the autumn/winter with a gestation periode of 3 - 4 month (depending on size of the litter)
doe's can have litters with 1 to 3 kits. The kits are born with perfect vision and hearing and are able to follow their mother to the outside pretty fast.
Kits are sexual mate at 1 year old, yet it's preferred to not breed them before 2 years old. The horns/rack start to grow at the age of 6 months. Horns don't drop.
They can not crossbreed with other jackalopes, rabbits or hares.

Taming a Cerva
Taming a wild Cerva isn't so easy as they have a high fight-or-run instinct and they know how to use their claws, horns and legs. It's often better to either take a wild young or get a kit from a bred litter.
Yet even tame Cerva can show some wild to sometimes aggressive behavior when feeling attacked.
