Description

The color sheet of the ADH :)
Below you find the info about the colors, genes and their rarity.

Natural coats/genes
The natural coated ADH is still the most common of them all :)
anyway gene is possible though plain colored ADH (so no white) are still the most seen and often most wanted.

Unnatural colors
The normal genes like cream, champagne, silver, ... all have an affect on the 3 unnatural base colors.

:bulletblack: Red - Rubi - KrKr
The body is a strong red color which can vary in shade a little bit

:bulletblack: Blue - Safaia - KbKb
The body is a strong blue color which can vary in shade a little bit

:bulletblack: Yellow - Kohaku - KyKy
The body is a strong yellow color which can vary in shade a little bit

:bulletblack: Orange - Sekiei - KrKy
This is the result of breeding a Red to a Yellow ADH. The combination of the Kr gene and the Ky gene created a orange color.

:bulletblack: Green - Menou - KbKy
This is the result of breeding a blue to a Yellow ADH. The combination of the Kb gene and the Ky gene created a green color.

:bulletblack: Purple - Ameji- KrKb
This is the result of breeding a Red to a Blue ADH. The combination of the Kb gene and the Kr gene created a purple color.

:bulletblack: Single Cream gene - Kuri - nCr
1 cream gene dilutes the color as if you would mix it with white. the color becomes paler.

:bulletblack: Double cream gene - Awai - CrCr
2 cream gene gives a double strong effect, turning the base to a very pale, almost pastel to white color.

:bulletblack: Champagne - Sharai - Ch-
The champagne gene gives an extra saturated look (to sometimes neon variations) but turns the manes paler

:bulletblack: Grey - G-
Just as normal grey, the coat loses it's color over the years. it can create dapples. Manes and tail are moslty affect on a later age (around 20 years)

:bulletblack: Roan - R-
As normal roan, the head, legs, manes and tail stay the normal color, while the barrel gets paler

:bulletblack: Silver - Z-
Silver dilutes the manes to an almost to sometimes full white color

:bulletblack: Sooty - Sty-
Possible one of the genes with the most variation as it can act on very different ways.
The normal way is like you would see it on a normal horse, where parts of the body get's darker, mostly neck, shoulder and the back.
Though on the ADH is also has a strong located effect, while it can turn the manes to a very dark, nearly black color.
sometimes, in very rare cases it can turn the entire horse black over the year (like a reversed grey effect)

:bulletblack: Pangare - Pa-
Acts as normal pangare, lights up the soft parts like muzzle, belly, inside legs, ...

:bulletblack: Dun - D-
The legs and head stay their normal colors, while stripes on the legs, shoulders, neck, ... appear. a dorsal line is always visible.
frosting can appear in manes and tail.

Rare genes
Rare gene are rarely seen in the breed and have their own 'legend)

:bulletblack: Dominant White - Daiya - Ww
Even while this is in fact a normal gene, the DW gene has a special meaning in the breed, certainly in combination with certain marking colors.
- a DW with white horns and markings (so plain white look) is seen as  holy, a spirit. When such a foal was born, it was raised like it was a God. Taking care of such a horse was an honor and privilege. These horses were spoiled as Royals.
- a DW in combination with black horns and markings was seen as corrupted. People though a demon was living inside the 'holy' body and these foals were often killed or at least gelded/spayed .
- a DW with silver of gold horns/markings (mainly gold) was seen as something precious and these were often gifted to the Emperor as presents. If you were able to gift such an ADH to the Emperor, you would praised and often lifted in rank.

:bulletblack: Chimera/Mosaic - Koi - Ko-
The Koi gene is a chimera affect looking gene where 2 different colors were seen on the body. These combination could be natural X natural, unnatural X unnatural and natural X unnatural.
When a white gene was present, these horses even got more value.
Certainly if black, white and red/orange/chestnut, the typical Koi or calico colors were seen as bringers of luck.
A Tancho, meaning a full white body (either by DW or strong white markings) with a red or chestnut colors spot on the forhead was seen as sacred.

:bulletblack: Pearl - Shinju - prlrpl
The pearl gene is recessive, meaning you need 2 of them to be visible!
This gene has a normal effect on natural colors horses BUT a very special effect on unnatural colored horses, as it gives an pearl/opal effect on the coat.
as demonstrated on this red coat, depending on the light, the coat can shimmer in many colors, like yellow, green, blue, purple. each coat is different!
These horses were sold for high prizes and if you could give such a horse as dowry, your were sure of a good marriage and good luck!
